Terms & Conditions (Game of Skill)

1. Promoter

The promotion is run by KALAHARI KHABU LIMITED (“Promoter”).

2. Promotion Overview

The Kalahari Craft Challenge is a skill-based competition where entrants submit original video content demonstrating their use of Kalahari products.
The winner is determined based on judging criteria and community voting, not chance.

3. Eligibility

  • Entry is open to individuals aged 18 years or older
  • Entrants must be customers of Kalahari (owning relevant equipment)
  • Employees, contractors, and immediate family of the Promoter are not eligible
  • Entry is open to New Zealand and international participants

3A. Eligible Products (Entry Requirement)

To be eligible for entry, participants must own and demonstrate use of Kalahari meat processing equipment.
Eligible products include:

Biltong Equipment

  • Kalahari Biltong Drying Cabinets (all models)

Dry Ageing Equipment

  • Kalahari Khabu Classic Dry Ager – 125L
  • Kalahari Khabu Classic Dry Ager – 415L

Meat Processing Equipment

  • Meat Grinders (e.g. KK SL08, KK JQ48, KK SS08 or equivalent models)
  • Meat Slicers (e.g. KK SL250 or equivalent models)
  • Sausage Making Equipment (including sausage fillers/presses)
  • Meat Mixers
  • Hamburger Patty Presses
  • Any other Kalahari-branded meat preparation or processing equipment

Excluded Products

The following products are not eligible for entry on their own:
  • Biltong
  • Spice Grinder
  • Spice blends
  • Snack products
  • Consumables of any kind
However, these may appear in videos where relevant, provided eligible equipment is clearly featured.

3B. Proof of Purchase Requirement

To ensure fairness and authenticity, entrants must be able to provide valid proof of purchase for the Kalahari equipment featured in their submission.
Acceptable proof includes:
  • Order confirmation email
  • Invoice or receipt
  • Account order history
  • Any other documentation reasonably requested by the Promoter

3C. Verification Process

  • The Promoter reserves the right to request proof of purchase at any stage, including:
    • before finalist selection
    • before awarding the prize
  • Failure to provide valid proof within a reasonable timeframe may result in:
    • disqualification
    • removal from finalist selection

3D. Authentic Use Requirement

Entries must:
  • Feature genuine use of Kalahari equipment
  • Not misrepresent ownership or usage
  • Not use borrowed, staged, or third-party equipment without disclosure
The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entry that:
  • appears misleading
  • cannot be reasonably verified
  • does not align with the intent of the promotion

4. Promotion Period

  • Entries open: 10 April 2026
  • Entries close: 15 August 2027
Late entries will not be accepted.

5. How to Enter

To enter, participants must:
  • Create a video (15–60 seconds is preferred) demonstrating their use of Kalahari equipment
  • Submit via one of the following methods:
    • Post on social media (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) tagging @Kalahari and using #KalahariCraftChallenge
    • Upload via the official competition landing page
  • Ensure the content is original and complies with these Terms
Entries must not be offensive, misleading, or infringe any third-party rights.

Content Requirements – Audio and Music

All entries must comply with the following:
  • Entrants must only use:
    • original audio (voice, natural sound), or
    • royalty-free music they have the rights to use
  • Entrants must not use copyrighted or licensed music unless they have full rights to grant Kalahari permission to use that content for marketing purposes.
  • Any entry containing copyrighted music that cannot be legally reused by the Promoter may be:
    • disqualified, or
    • deemed ineligible for marketing use

6. Judging Process (Game of Skill)

This is a skill-based competition.
Entries will be judged based on:
  • Product quality and outcome
  • Clarity of content
  • Creativity and storytelling
  • Authenticity
  • Alignment with the Kalahari brand
👉 Skill-based judging is required to avoid classification as a lottery under the Gambling Act.

7. Competition Timeline

  • Entries close: 15 August 2027
  • Top 10 finalists announced: 22 August 2027
  • Public voting period: 22 August – 5 September 2027
  • Winner announced: 7 September 2027

8. Finalist Selection and Voting

  • The Promoter will select 10 finalists based on judging criteria
  • The final winner will be determined by a combination of:
    • Public voting
    • Promoter discretion (to ensure fairness and integrity)
The Promoter reserves the right to moderate or remove fraudulent or manipulated votes.

9. Prize

The winner will receive:
  • Two (2) tickets to the Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027
  • Flights (if outside the host country), at the Promoter’s discretion
  • Accommodation for 2 people in a 4 star hotel
The prize:
  • Is non-transferable
  • Cannot be exchanged for cash
  • Must be used as specified
👉 Under NZ law, prizes must be accurately described and delivered as advertised under the Fair Trading Act 1986.

10. Content Rights and Usage

By entering, participants grant Kalahari Khabu:
  • A worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use submitted content
  • Rights to use, reproduce, edit, and distribute content for marketing purposes
This includes:
  • Advertising
  • Website content
  • Social media
  • Email marketing
Entrants confirm they own all rights to the content submitted.

11. Privacy

Personal information collected will be handled in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020.
Information will be used for:
  • Administering the competition
  • Contacting entrants
  • Marketing (where consent is provided)
Participants may request access to or correction of their data.

12. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the Promoter is not liable for:
  • Technical failures or submission issues
  • Lost, late, or incomplete entries
  • Any loss or damage arising from participation or prize use

13. Disqualification

The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify entries that:
  • Are fraudulent or misleading
  • Use bots or artificial engagement
  • Do not comply with these Terms

14. General Conditions

  • The Promoter reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel the promotion if necessary
  • All conditions must be clearly disclosed in accordance with NZ consumer law requirements
  • This promotion is not sponsored, endorsed, or administered by any social media platform

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
